Life can be a strange place, add any amount of fame to the equation and it only gets weirder. The strange connections and twist of fate that run through the life of this enigmatic man are endlessly fascinating. The Brief: Kids and technology is it a good thing, or a bad thing? Pick a side, invent or partner with an existing organization, and make a persuasive statement about it.
We found that there were certain experiences necessary to human development and relationships that just can't be replicated by technology, and increasingly these experiences are being hindered by the rise of both parental and child screen time.
We used a preexisting event, screen free week, and executed a poster and transit based campaign that visually depicts how screen time overload interferes with sensory experience. Which is crucial to our development, until the day we leave our sentient bodies behind.

Biolite started as a Kickstarter in early 2014. Early adopters and influencers want to see new products in use, so try as hard as we could there wasn't anyway around product shots.
Through extensive trolling of the the internet we found that many hardcore off the grid campers had little use for a camp stove that really didn't put out a lot of heat for cooking, but could charge their phone in the middle of a no coverage zone.
We targeted more of the day tripping new to camping enthusiast that would really be into the benefit of the benefit. The Biolite camp stove allows you to stay connected, use GPS, and the internet while roaming the backwoods of the nearest state park.
Wild but not that wild.

The idea behind this project was to find Dremel users who used their Dremel rotary tools to modify something in a subtle way to make them better.
Originally Envisioned as a series of webisodes profiling these Dremel Influencers, I think the idea could be a multiplatform movement empowering more casual power-tool consumers to make their world a better place one small modification at a time.
